 Camping in Kyushu 九州キャンプ

These campsites are reachable by foot or public buses since we don't have the Japanese driver's licenses. Nevertheless, they were all fantastic campsites!

私たちの行ったキャンプサイトはすべて、徒歩かバスで行ける、どれも素敵なキャンプ場です!

Bogatsuru 坊ガツル, Oita

We hiked through the grasslands and volcanoes of the Kuju mountain range to the free campsite nested between the mountains and hot spring. Beautiful foliage colors.

 Mt. Hiko 英彦山, Fukuoka

Revered as a holy mountain since ancient times, Mt. Hiko is famous for being hallowed ground along the pilgrimage route for Buddhist monks.

Ebino Plateau  えびの高原, Miyazaki

Ebino Plateau is a basin within the Mount Kirishima mountain ranges in southern Kyushu, Japan. Volcanic mountain peaks surround it. The campsite used to be reached by public buses from northern Kyushu, but since the eruptions of Shinmoe-dake, only buses from southern Kyushu is running now.

Hirado 平戸, Nagasaki

The beautiful port town of Hirado is an island in Nagasaki Prefecture. The island enjoyed brisk international trade to the West and the East in past centuries. The accessible campsite is reachable by foot or bus from the town. Rental bikes are great for exploring!

Iki Island 壱岐島, Nagasaki

The beautiful and spiritual island full of hills and shrines. We biked to the camp site over looking sea of Japan.

Mt. Raizan 雷山, Fukuoka

Genjiinomori Camp Onsen 源じいの森温泉, Fukuoka

The campsite is right by the river and has hot spring facility. Great place to cool down during the hot summer!
