Hiking in Kyushu　九州のハイキング

Since we moved to Japan, we've been hiking and camping all over Kyushu, the southern island of Japan full of fantastic hot springs! Here are some photos from the trips.

A hidden valley in with 1800 year history with onsen huts nesting on the valley.

Kurokawa Onsen 黒川温泉, Kumamoto

One of the best onsen town in Kyushu!

 

Mt. Kuju 九重山, Oita

Mount Kujū is the highest mountain in Kyushu Island.

Yabakei Gorge 耶馬渓, Oita

Yabakei is a nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty spanning the municipalities of Kusu and Nakatsu in Ōita Prefecture, Japan. Located within Yaba-Hita-Hikosan Quasi-National Park.

Mt. Aso 阿蘇山, Kumamoto

Mt. Aso is the largest active volcano in Japan, and is among the largest in the world. It stands in Aso Kujū National Park in Kumamoto Prefecture, on the island of Kyushu
